Review: The Amazing Maui Babe Browning Lotion

So I guess you could say that since I was about 10 years old, I have been guilty of being addicted to sunshine and warmth. I have always loved spending endless hours with no makeup on just bronzing in the Florida sun while listening to the ocean. It is a sort of escape and along with that escape, comes beautiful skin color. I got turned onto Australian Gold tanning lotion when I was younger and have stuck with it ever since.

Up until recently, Australian Gold was the lone star in my beach bag. A new lotion came to my attention when I learned it was a natural tanning enhancer made on Maui in Hawaii. After reading endless amazing reviews I decided to invest the worthy twelve dollars at my local Ulta Beauty store to try this baby out. To my complete gratification, it turned out to truly help my skin reach that brown suntan look without being orangey or fake.

It does not contain sunscreen, so I do apply it after I have applied my usual Australian Gold SPF 15 all over. When I was first getting my base tan for the summer, I did use SPF 30 instead to ensure the longevity of my summer tan rather then ending up in a peeling and uneven mess. Warning: this stuff SMELLS! I feel as though I am slathering a smelly coffee paste all over me and cannot help but to hate the smell…but it is worth the results and after a while you will become numb to it. It also is very dark in color leading me to believe that it will stain your white bathing suits or coverups but so far, I have been able to get these temporary stains out. I just would not recommend using it when wearing white or light colors just as a precaution.

Overall: I am now a Maui Babe Browning Lotion family member and will continue to spread the word of this beautiful beautiful tanning lotion and its lovely skin darkening capabilities. 🙂
